Hi, I'm Jala – your doula and food enthusiast! Inspired by my love for cooking and a deep commitment to addressing the lack of representation, especially of Black birth workers, I've chosen this path to ensure a supportive and inclusive birthing experience for all. I find immense joy in sharing my love for cooking with clients. For me, every meal is a chance to infuse warmth and care into your new journey.
In everything I do, whether supporting families through postpartum care or preparing a nourishing meal, my driving force is a genuine love and care. I believe in infusing every moment with warmth, creating an atmosphere where love is not just a sentiment but a tangible presence. My goal is to spread a joyful spirit wherever I go, leaving behind a trail of positivity and heartfelt connections. I have been an infant nanny with about five plus families over the years and my duties included anything and everything that pertained to taking care of the child. Changing diapers, childrens laundry, daily health/ wellness checks, bottle feeding, ect.

I am a professional labor and postpartum assistant who provides physical and emotional support to a pair of newly parents during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. I advocated for birthing persons and provided educated medical recommendations.

With 7 years as a newborn care specialist, I specialize in sleep training, breastfeeding support, and developmental guidance. My role is to provide tailored care, empower parents, and ensure a positive start for both the newborn and the family.

Jala was referred to us by another night nurse. The first night she came, I quickly explained where everything was and the schedule. She quickly learned it and perfectly executed everything for our baby immediately. Not only this, but she has a great calming presence about her. I can tell our baby immediately took a liking to her. Even though he is colic, she had methods for dealing with it and suggestions. I was very impressed with her expansive knowledge and recommended tools for coping with it. I had requested to have her take care of our baby for a longer period of time, but she already had another family booked. Thanks Jala for your care to our baby boy!
